With a knife, score an X half way down each Chestnut.
In a cast iron skillet get it hot to about medium heat. Place butter and let it melt. Add chestnuts and slowly add water. Cook for about 10 mins shaking every once in a while and moving with tongs but keep if covered. After most or all of the water id evaporated take off the lid and cook for around 2 mins and shake or move with tongs. Cook until done. After they are done, turn off heat and keep them in the pan covered for 5 mins. Then take them off and let them cool before you eat.
