Ingredients:.......................12 Servings
CRUST: ½ CUP Margarine 1 CUP Flour 2 TBLS Water
FILLING: ½ CUP Margarine 1 CUP Water 1 TSP Almond Extract 1 CUP Flour 3 Eggs
FROSTING: 1 ½ CUP Powdered Sugar 2 TBSP Soft Butter or Margarine 1 ½ TSP Almond Extract 1 ½ TBSP Warm Water 1 (4 ½ oz) Package Sliced Almonds --------------------------------------------------------------------- Preheat oven at 350 degrees
Crust:
Cut margarine into flour. Sprinkle with water and mix well with dough cutter (don't use your hands, because the heat from them will make the dough sticky). Form into a ball and place it on an un-greased cookie sheet. Spread dough onto a 12X3 baking sheet in a rounded rectangle.
Filling:
Melt margarine, add water and bring to a boil. Remove quickly and stir in almond extract, flour, and eggs until thick and smooth. Spread filling over top of crust and bake for 1 hour at 350. Let cool.
Frosting:
Mix all ingredients except almonds. Spread frosting on cooled crust and sprinkle top with almonds.
